@bighands69 There are far more things that people have said will fail and have, than things that people have said will fail and succeed. Exceptions don't break trends. Be skeptical of new technology because most of the time it is a pointless fad. Very little of social networking actually helps to make people's lives better, and is just exchanging how people get information and entertainment, i.e. TV, newspaper, radio. The information being transferred isn't any better, it's just more noise.

people have said the same thing about cars ,aircraft ,fridge freezers , computers before they became the social norm. It is impossible to know what will be positive or negative. Peoples actions and intentions should really be the focus and not the technology.

But really, now we know that Microsoft and Yahoo! are partners, so this probably won't happen.

Anyone who thinks Second Life is a glorified chat room has clearly never used it. I agree there are some strange folk who populate it but have you heard of the virtual Universities? The art galleries? The Ontario government has a building within Second Life because they know that's where virtual reality is going. There is much more behind Second Life if you take the time to find out about it. Like it or not this is where the world of communication and social networking is going.

yes, i do, and i don't use it for that, it's a glorified chatroom, yes sex does happen, but you make it seem like it's in every faucet of the game, which it is not why am i even arguring over the internet?
